Pro-Tx’s founder Mr. Garry F. vandenBerg has loved dogs and animals his whole life. Growing up in the 1960’s Garry won first place in a local dog obedience class with his first dog Tonka, a large German Shepard-wolf mix. Years later Garry progressed to his first rescued dog, an abused and neglected Doberman Pincher named Junkie. Junkie had been a chained up guard dog who belonged to a Detroit Motorcycle gang. Junkie, living in a banana crate in the middle of winter was on the verge of starvation and death when Garry asked if he could have Junkie when the motorcycle club gave the order to “dispose” of him. Junkie’s wonderful transformation under Garry’s care changed both Junkie’s and Garry’s lives forever. Over the last decade Garry became involved with Great Danes and Rottweiler’s. In the 1990’s Garry began focusing his attention on abused Great Danes that aggressed, (bite & attack) due to abuse. As a dog behaviorist, Garry’s intensive interaction in challenging front line animal aggress situations over the years led to the direct engineering, development and founding of PRO-TX Animal Escort Shields and product line. PRO-TX’s patented products are animal management tools created for direct humane interaction.
At PRO-TX LLC we have one continuing goal: As our Lord’s grace was given to us, may we also bestow upon the lesser which we have been entrusted with.
